'Limited Reproduction Rights' means the artist is selling the full commercial rights to the reproducibility of the art. This means the buyer can use the art for commercial projects, which could include making prints, t-shirt designs, website/blog graphics, etc. This does not mean that the purchaser could sell their own secondary licenses for the piece, or could retokenize it themselves.
On Friday 23rd July 2021 I got the most fantastic surprise as I discovered that @allanlinder - A NYC based artist, (who's work is absolutely exceptional I might add) had bought my "Karma Screams" piece. I was over the moon having my work not only purchased but APPRECIATED by such an exceptional and clearly very well established artist! I wanted to give a show of my gratitude to Allan and thought that gifting him with a personal piece would be the way to go. I had a good gander at all of his work, style, tastes etc. all of which appear incredibly eclectic - so I threw caution to the wind and just went with my gut. On Allan's Twitter profile (and one or two of his other online spaces) he uses the bio "Crowded City, Spacious Mind" which presumably refers to him as an artist based in NYC. That one-liner stuck in my mind and I decided it would be the perfect catalyst for his gifted NFT. So here is my "thank you" Allan - which is a very heartfelt one. You brought me confidence at the very beginning of a new journey in my life - one which I am incredibly excited about and that is a moment I will never forget. ............................ Each piece of art I create holds strong purpose and symbolism to me personally, but art is a universal language, therefore I let my creations speak for themselves - uniquely, to each individual... interpretation transforming and growing with each new set of eyes met
Happy Tuesday!

through a gift from @caro-art and @wulff-media to @balte I became aware of the ingenious Hive Frontend nftshowrooms only about ten days ago.
That there are numerous artists and artists here on the Hive Blockchain, I had noticed for some time, but that they already have their own front end for some time on the artwork in the form of Nonfungible Tokens (NFTs) with Hive.swap can be purchased, is then but an ingenious concept, which enriches the HIVE chain enormously.
The introduction of the nftShowroom frontend represents an important step in the evolution of the international art scene as well as the Hive Chain - not only from the point of view of the artists, but also from the point of view of the art lovers, who can now freely marvel at partly sensational artworks in virtual galleries and, if desired, also purchase them - mostly for private use.
Some artists and providers of NFT's also offer them with limited reproduction rights. Limited Reproductions means that the owner of the NFT artwork acquires the rights for their commercial use - meaning he can run the NFT animations or images in his own bar, studio or business premises, print them out and hang them on his wall - only he is not allowed to resell them as his own token. NFT Showrooms also writes about this:
'Limited Reproduction Rights' means the artist is selling the full commercial rights to the reproducibility of the art. This means the buyer can use the art for commercial projects, which could include making prints, t-shirt designs, website/blog graphics, etc. This does not mean that the purchaser could sell their own secondary licenses for the piece, or could retokenize it themselves.
But let's get back to the question posed at the beginning, which is:
Who is Allan Linder anyway?
Because that's the question I asked myself when I came across his digital artwork while browsing the NFT showroom, which I find fascinating. Professionally done animations with soundtrack take the viewer to a world somewhere in the future, seemingly taking place in New York City, the city of the unforgiving. The image above is from one of the five NFTs of Taxi Cab that @janasilver and @indextrader24 acquired from Alan Linder for a handful of hive. Why five? Because they are, in my opinion, dirt cheap for an Allan Linder work of art.
The Taxi Cab NFT appears to be from Number 1 of the Unforgiving City series according to the artist. I find the installation to be highly accomplished and sensationally good. This has led me to try to find out who is actually behind Allan Linder.
Apparently Allan Linder is a New York City-based artist of international stature who has exhibited in Brazil (Sao Paolo), France (Paris), Germany (Hamburg) and Spain (Barcelona).
To find out more about this 55 year old artist, one must continue to browse the web of the arts. There one learns among other things that Allan Linder spent 16 years of his life on a comic, which is set as Prisoners of the Mind in New York City of the future and with which he has already made a monument to himself in the world of the arts during his lifetime.
The English Wikipedia writes among other things that Allan Linder was active between 1979 and 1995 as Alan Shaw mainly on the west coast of the USA in Los Angelos and became active only starting from the year 2000 in New York City, in the city which never sleeps and in which only that has success, which is really good in that which it makes.
Elsewhere you find out that Allan Linder has sold most of his artwork to America. On Instagram he has more than 82000 followers.
'Getting there' by Allan Linder as NFT costs more than 1.2 million US dollars...
The most expensive image I found of Allan Linder costs 272 Ether on Open Sea, or the equivalent of more than 1.2 million US dollars. For the animations from the Unforgiven Collection you have to put on the table on OpenSea as NFT for between about 45 USD and 280 USD currently.
Here on Hive, in the NFTShowroom, you pay only a fraction for the works of this seemingly internationally renowned artist, who seems to have many followers, especially in the US.
The best part is that with the NFT to Taxi Cab or even Sniper Allan Linder attached to the NFT the first edition of Prisoner of the Mind with to the Non-Fungible Token.
Ingenious art on an ingenious chain of international format. Simply sensational. No wonder an artist was apparently blown away when Allan Linder bought one of her NFTs from her on Hive, prompting her to give him an NFT of her own and add the following comment:
I think this statement about Allan Linder as an exceptional artist, who has now also arrived on the HIVE Blockchain, stands for itself and needs no further additions.
Happy Tuesday!
